Dan Crenshaw Got Fired: Good!

Dan Crenhaw lost, and I could not be happier about it. Make no mistake, if you clicked on this as a liberal and thought I would be siding with you, you have clicked on the completely wrong article. Additionally, please make no mistake, I do respect Dan's service to our country and view him as a tremendous hero for his service and literally sacrificing his eyesight for our great nation. One final piece of note keeping: I'm not sure if he is still retaining attorneys since losing so everything I mention in this piece is my own opinion and just that. I claim nothing as fact unless specifically stated as that and do hold some rather strong opinions about Dan. That does not mean I do not believe we may meet some day in Heaven where we will have complete and total peace in our minds and will no longer disagree.

However, that is where my respect completely and totally ceases for Crenshaw. During his more recent years, Dan spent significant time engaged in pointless social media drama with individuals like David Goggins, Tucker Carlson and Sean Ryan. Crenshaw continuously called allegations against him attacks and vehemently defended them. However, it is clear that the voters (even in a rather gerrymandered district) found that when allegations keep coming and keep coming there may be some substance to them. In my opinion, social media and podcasting completely and totally ruined Dan. He was far too focused on the spotlight and not nearly focused enough on the issues which mattered to his constituents. I had high hopes for Dan, I greatly relish the concept of veterans in politics. I find that a veteran is far less likely to agree to go to war, especially a veteran like Crenshaw who deployed and fought and was even wounded for his country. It saddens me that Dan did little to nothing of relevant effect and that I must say he was largely a failure.

Dan was accused of violating stock disclosure laws for politicians. He was accused of this by rather popular individuals who are considered by a HUGE audience to be reputable. Based upon my research, his attorneys responded with cease and desist notices. For those who do not know, these are often a baseless attempt to scare an individual into removing content which is protected speech, but they do often times work as individuals are not prepared to financially back a court case to determine whether or not their speech is protected. Crenshaw was captured on a hot mic stating he wanted to "f***ing kill" Tucker Carlson.

Crenshaw's biggest issue which lost him the office? I do not believe Crenshaw himself holds a real opinion or a real conviction. Looking at how much he flip flopped after January 6th and how he consistently participated in infighting within the Republican Party, it appears to be that he attempted to remain moderate when moderation was no longer in order. His views on homosexuality versus his votes did not necessarily align in my mind. I believe Dan Crenshaw could have become President of the United States of America 20 years ago, but luckily for us, we are not living 20 years ago. The tide is shifting in the Republican party to demonstrate beyond a reasonable doubt to politicians that you MUST stand for something, you MUST hold your own beliefs, and you MUST speak on them, vote on them, and if need be, lose for them. Where as some politicians are losing for their viewpoints, I do believe Dan Crenshaw lost for his lack of substantive viewpoints. Visiting the wealthy households of the Woodlands was not enough. Individuals are consuming more and more media related to politics and they are forming ever increasingly stronger viewpoints. The engaged voter today cares far more about their sons not dying in war than they do about the value of the S&P 500. They do not care for a politician who is purchasing Facebook stock or a stake in Jocko Willink's supplement company. They care for a politician who will be strong in the face of adversity and tell us what they believe, not what a graduate of the UT Austin Political Science program has calculated the voters will respond to.

Let this be a lesson to all politicians that if we do not feel you are genuine, we will absolutely vote you out. I was looking at the primary results this morning and how many people in my county and neighboring counties who chose to abstain from voting for candidates running unopposed is INSAINE. It demonstrates that the people yearn for meaningful candidates who value their position, and not individuals trying to make a career out of it.

To Dan, if you are reading this, I truly wish you the best that the world has to offer. I harbor zero ill will to you and do feel that you could have absolutely had a wonderful career and a lasting positive impact on our country. You should feel significant shame for how you career went, and I do feel you had a negative impact on everyone you touched in your political career. However, you were still made in the unique image of God same as me and all those around me, and because of that I could never hate you.
